About Kaji
Kaji Gurung comes from the Tsum Valley, a remote and deeply traditional corner of the Nepal Himalaya that few travellers ever reach. Growing up in this highland region, he knows its trails, its villages and its people from the inside, not from a guidebook. That lived knowledge is what he brings to every journey he leads with Touch The Himalaya.
As a local guide, Kaji pairs genuine mountain skill with the warmth and patience that come from guiding in your own homeland. He reads the weather, the terrain and the pace of a group with quiet confidence, and he takes real care of the people walking with him. Travellers often remember him as much for his kindness and steady presence as for the landscapes he opens up to them.
His role with Touch The Himalaya is to lead treks through the Tsum Valley and the surrounding Himalaya, sharing the culture, customs and everyday life of his home region along the way. When you walk with Kaji, you are not simply passing through the valley. You are being welcomed into it.
