Trek Tsum Valley Manaslu Trek -21 Days

Great trek through Tsum Valley and Manaslu Circuit

My daughter and I completed the Tsum Valley and Manaslu circuit in October 2026. It was important for us to use a local Nepalese company and guide service that really knew the area and supported the local people. My daughter chose Manaslu Guides Nepal after researching different companies and we weren’t disappointed. Madan helped arrange the trip as well all our experiences during our 7 week stay in Nepal making our stay stress free. Our guide Moti and our porters, Prakass and Bhishal made our trip amazing, they were very attentive and great to travel with during our 22 day trip. I jotted down some specific notes of why I highly recommend Manaslu Guides Nepal and Moti as a guide. WHY MOTI IS THE MOST AWESOME GUIDE - Really makes an effort to accommodate your hiking style and paces the group appropriately - Conscientious about safety - Tries to get on-suite bathrooms at the tea houses everywhere and where not available, makes sure you’re beside or close to the bathroom for nighttime visits (this is important for older folks like me) - Makes you stop and drink water often and keeps an eye on you to make sure you’re eating enough, eating and drinking lots making high elevation hiking easier - Tells stories and knows about places you visit - Is fun and wants to make sure you’re enjoying your trekking experience - Takes you on little diversions that other people don’t seem to experience - for instance things we did that other most other tourists I talked too had not - more monasteries (smaller ones), visited a school, saw other areas of some villages that showed a different perspective or had amazing views, took us on both sides of the river in Tsum Vally (one side up, one side down), visited the “stupa of world peace” - Took us early to Mu Gompa and Pungen Gompa - 6 am starts so we saw each site by early morning light and were the first ones there so got to experience the monasteries on our own before the other trekkers showed up (whom we passed on our way down). - Plays a mean game of Ludo (as did Prakass and Bhishal) - Is very kind, always playing with children, petting dogs, cats, donkeys - As a GF person, always made sure my food was safe for me to eat - Served fresh fruit after every meal - until they ran out (but very impressive considering the porters carried the fruit the whole way) WHY USE MADAN AND MANASLU GUIDES NEPAL - Organized everything with no hassle - Quality trekking services for a good price - Cares about your experience - Very accommodating - we had trouble with our credit cards to pay and he was nonplussed until my husband could pay a few days after we started our trek - Serves tea every time you visit and encourages you to visit often when in Kathmandu. - Very available and helped us when WestJet (Canadian airline) almost wouldn’t let us on the plane because we didn’t have an issued visa (they are issued upon landing but WestJet almost made us miss our whole trip because their system was incorrect!). Another important aspect was we started the trek as three people with my daughter‘s friend trekking most of the way but near then end got the flu, salmonella (reason to not eat meat and be vegetarian on the trip) and then he got altitude sickness. Moti watched him closely for the few days it was all progressing and Madan and Moti handled the helicopter evacuation with the insurance company once he finally decided he couldn’t do the high pass. They also picked him up from the hospital in Kathmandu after he was released and got him safely to a hotel until we could meet up again later.

Tsum Valley Trek

My name is August and I am from Austria. I recently completed the Tsum Valley Trek starting on 08/04/2026, organized by Manaslu Guides Nepal, operated by Madan Neupane. My guide Moti Neupane, was truly exceptional throughout the journey. He is friendly, experienced, kind, and very brave, always ensuring my safety and comfort. Being a local from the region, he shared deep insights about the culture, traditions, and mountains, which made the trek even more meaningful. I learned so much from him during this adventure. If you are planning to visit Nepal for trekking I highly recommend Manaslu Guides Nepal and guide Moti Neupane for an unforgettable experience.

Incredible Experience on the Lower Manaslu Trek with Local Experts

I recently completed a 7-day Lower Manaslu Trek with my 10-year-old brother, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The trek was organized from Kathmandu by Touch The Himalaya (Madan), and we were guided by Moti from Manaslu Guides Nepal, who picked us up in Arkhet Bazaar. Unlike the regular Manaslu Circuit, we followed a completely different and less-traveled route, which gave us a deeper glimpse into the authentic countryside and culture of Nepal. On the first night, we stayed at Moti’s home in the charming village of Lapudanda, where we spent two nights. This gave us the unique opportunity to experience the warm hospitality, culture, and daily life of a typical Nepali village. From Lapudanda, we trekked through beautiful and peaceful trails, passing through Yarsha Village, Kasigaun, and Kerauja. These upper-route villages offered stunning views and meaningful interactions with local people. After reaching Kerauja, we briefly joined the main Manaslu trail but stayed outside the restricted zone, which meant we didn’t need special permits. For our return, we took a different scenic trail through the iconic villages of Laprak and Barpak—both rich in natural beauty and cultural heritage. This trek far exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect blend of nature, culture, and local life, and it was especially suitable for families or those looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure. I highly recommend the Lower Manaslu Trek to anyone who wants to see the real Nepal. Choosing a company like Touch The Himalaya, which works with native guides like Moti from the Manaslu region, made all the difference.

Just like on the Tsum Valley Trek, a big thank you to Moti and the entire team of Manaslu Guides.
